Here you can learn how to create Google AdSense ads. With these ads on your web pages you can earn a steady income from visitors clicking on them. Once setup, this "adsense business" runs on automation and will make you money as long you have a reasonable amount of traffic to your website.
As you probably know, AdSense ads are contextual ads - they are closely related to the content of the pages on which they appear. You just create and add a special AdSense code onto your pages, and then Google automatically delivers ads targeted to your content.
Well, here's how you create AdSense ads:
First, you need to sign up for a free account at Google AdSense. Login to your account and click on the 'AdSense Setup' tab. As you see, there are several types of ads to choose among; let's start with 'AdSense for Content', so click on that link. Then follow these steps:
How to create Adsense ads explained in detail:
In the admin panel of your AdSense account, click on the 'AdSense Setup' tab. As you can see, there are different types of ads to choose from. Let's start with AdSense for Content, so click on that link (you can explore the other options later). On the next screen, choose 'Ad unit' and 'Text ads only' and click 'Continue'.
For Format there are many options; for now, choose f.ex. the 300 x 250 Medium Rectangle (you can try other formats later, depending on the content and layout of your pages, and your liking). Further down that page you can choose what Colors you'd like on your ads. There are different pre-made palettes to choose among, and you can make your own by clicking on the color boxes on the right hand side. Then you can preview how that ad unit will look like. Of course you will try to design a unit that fits nicely into your website.
Further down that page there are even more options that you can try out, like Fonts and Corner Styles. When everything is set to your satisfaction (you can make changes or create new ad units at any time - it doesn't cost anything), click 'Continue'. Later you may want to add Ad Channels (they enable you to view detailed reporting about the performance of specific pages and ad units - learn about ad channels), but for now click 'Continue'.
On the next window, choose a name for this ad unit, by typing into the slot to the right. Be sure to give it a descriptive name so that you will remember it later (in the course of time you probably will have numerous ad units to keep in order!).
Then click 'Submit and Get Code'. On the next screen you will see the code for this ad unit, and this is what you will copy and paste into a web page of yours or a blog. For your convenience you can now copy the code, and paste it into a Wordpad (or similar) document and save it to your computer. To copy the code, click with your mouse in the code area so the code gets highlighted, then press Ctrl+C to copy it.
However, you can get the code at any time in the future by logging in to your AdSense account, clicking on 'AdSense Setup', then 'Manage Ads', find the ad unit you want the code for and click the 'Code' link on the right hand side. Here you also can edit your ads and do other things. Their admin panel is easy to use and makes it really easy to manage your AdSense ads.
You can use the same code on as many pages as you want. You only need to create new code if you want an ad unit in another format, another color scheme or some other change. The code is so "intelligent" that it creates ads related to your pages' content no matter what the content is about!
You can have up to three ad blocks on each web page. The ad blocks can be of different formats and you can place them wherever you like on your pages. By using Ad Channels (see above) you can monitor the performance of specific pages and ad units, so you can experiment a bit to see which units, placement on the page etc. performs the best.
Warning: Google doesn't allow you to click on ads on your own website in order to make money. They are able to track such activity so you may get penalized if you do (it's unethical too, of course).
Now that you know how to create the AdSense ads, you may want to use them on your website or blog to earn some money. Get tips and advice on how to do it here: Make Money With AdSense (for a website) and Make Money by Blogging.
